Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for building, operating, and supporting the company’s Microsoft Azure cloud environments to ensure they are secure, reliable, and costeffective. The role focuses on daytoday Azure operations, infrastructure support, automation, and incident resolution, while working within established architectural, security, and governance standards.

The Cloud Engineer collaborates closely with Senior Cloud Engineers, Cyber Security, Network, and Modern Workplace teams, and supports offshore engineers as part of a followthesun operational model. This role is primarily delivery and operations focused, with opportunities to grow into architecture and leadership responsibilities over time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Azure Infrastructure & Operations

  • Build, configure, and support Azure infrastructure following established company standards
  • Deploy and manage:
    • Azure Virtual Machines and disks
    • Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disks)
    • Resource groups and subscriptions
  • Perform routine operational tasks including upgrades, maintenance, and service improvements
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts and incidents
  • Support capacity changes, scaling activities, and performance improvements

Azure Networking (Operational Support)

  • Support Azure networking components including:
    • VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, and peering
  • Assist with VPN and hybrid connectivity troubleshooting
  • Support Application Gateway and Load Balancer configurations
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and access issues under guidance from senior engineers
  • Follow Azure Well‑Architected Framework standards and internal patterns

Identity, Access & Security

  • Implement and maintain RBAC assignments in Azure
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID integrations for applications and platforms
  • Assist with:
    • Managed identities
    • Key Vault secret and certificate usage
  • Apply security controls and remediation actions as defined by Cyber Security and Senior Cloud Engineers
  • Support vulnerability remediation and security audit activities

Platform & PaaS Support

  • Deploy and support Azure PaaS services including:
    • App Services
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure SQL (PaaS) and basic SQL Managed Instance tasks
    • Service Bus and Event Grid
  • Support existing API Management and integration services
  • Work with developers and vendors to resolve platform‑related issues

Monitoring, Backup & Recovery

  • Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to:
    • Monitor system health
    • Investigate alerts and incidents
  • Support Azure Backup and restore activities
  • Assist with disaster recovery testing under senior guidance
  • Maintain operational documentation and recovery procedures

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code deployments using:
    • Bicep / ARM templates
    • Azure CLI and PowerShell
  • Execute changes through approved CI/CD pipelines
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement

Cloudflare, DNS & Certificates (Operational)

  • Support Cloudflare configuration under senior oversight, including:
    • DNS records
    • SSL certificates
    • Firewall rules and WAF policies
  • Assist with certificate renewals and domain management
  • Monitor expiry risks and escalate where required

Operational Support & Collaboration

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for cloud platforms and services
  • Participate in incident response and post‑incident reviews
  • Work with offshore Cloud Engineers as part of follow‑the‑sun support
  • Participate in handovers, maintenance windows, and change activities
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately to Senior Cloud Engineers

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and runbooks
  • Update operational procedures and knowledge base articles
  • Actively develop cloud engineering skills through hands‑on experience
  • Adopt and follow the company’s security, governance, and operational standards

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer role
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking, identity, and security fundamentals
  • Experience supporting production cloud environments
  • Exposure to automation and scripting (PowerShell, ARM/Bicep)
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills

Desirable

  • Azure certification (AZ‑104 or working towards)
  • Exposure to Cloudflare, DNS, and SSL certificate management
  • Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring concepts
  • Experience working in a regulated or security‑conscious environment

INTERVIEW PROCESS: 2–3 online rounds

JOB LOCATION: Fulltime office/hybrid/remote working

  • Office location: IPC Tower, 1489 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Hung Ward, HCMC (opposite SC Vivo City, District 7)
