Modern Workplace Engineer
The Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and continuous improvement of the company’s Microsoft Modern Workplace environment. This role focuses on endpoint management, identity and access, collaboration platforms, and end-user security, ensuring staff can work securely and effectively across all locations.
The Modern Workplace Engineer operates within established architecture, security, and governance standards, working closely with Cloud, Cyber Security, and Service Desk teams. This is a delivery focused role with clear pathways to grow into senior platform ownership and technical leadership.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Platforms
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including:
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive for Business
- Support collaboration configurations, permissions, and usage patterns
- Assist with platform changes, feature rollouts, and user enablement
- Troubleshoot end‑user issues related to messaging, collaboration, and productivity tools
Endpoint Management (Intune & Windows)
- Manage and support endpoints using Microsoft Intune
- Configure and support:
- Device enrolment (Windows, iOS, Android)
- Configuration profiles and compliance policies
- Application deployment and patching
- Support Windows 11 endpoint builds and lifecycle management
- Maintain device compliance and assist with remediation activities
Identity & Access Management
- Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) user and group lifecycle management
- Assist with:
- Conditional Access policy implementation and support
- MFA enforcement and troubleshooting
- Access reviews and identity governance tasks
- Apply Role‑Based Access Control and least‑privilege principles as defined by Security
- Support SSO integrations and identity‑related incidents
Endpoint Security & Compliance
- Support endpoint protection using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Assist with:
- Security baselines
- Alerts and remediation actions
- Vulnerability management tasks
- Work with Cyber Security teams on endpoint‑related incidents and audits
- Support compliance requirements aligned to ISO 27001 and internal security standards
User Lifecycle & Operational Support
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and role‑change processes
- Partner with Service Desk to resolve Level 2/3 Modern Workplace issues
- Participate in major incident response where workplace services are impacted
- Provide escalation support and root‑cause analysis for recurring issues
Automation & Operational Improvement
- Assist with scripting and automation using PowerShell
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual administration and improve reliability
- Execute approved changes through established change and release processes
- Follow documented standards for configuration and deployment
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain and update:
- Platform documentation
- Standard operating procedures
- Knowledge base articles
- Contribute to runbooks for common incidents and operational tasks
- Share knowledge and support capability uplift within the IT Operations team
Collaboration & Ways of Working
- Work closely with:
- Cloud Engineers
- Cyber Security
- Service Desk
- Business stakeholders
- Participate in follow‑the‑sun support and operational handovers where required
- Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical audiences
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Modern Workplace, EUC, or Endpoint Engineering role
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 endpoints at scale
- Working knowledge of endpoint security and Conditional Access
- Proven experience supporting users in a production enterprise environment
Desirable
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- MS‑102, MD‑102, or SC‑300 (or working towards)
- Experience with Defender for Endpoint
- Exposure to ISO 27001 or security‑driven environments
- Experience supporting geographically distributed workforces

JOB LOCATION: Fulltime office/hybrid/remote working
- Office location: IPC Tower, 1489 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Hung Ward, HCMC (opposite SC Vivo City, District 7)
